Conduct a SWOT Analysis

We have gained our 501c3 status but are still very much in the early stages of organization launch. My goal for this Taproot project is to gain clarity as to what should the next steps be. We believe that a comprehensive environmental scan will assist us in establishing an organizational strategy.

Our nonprofit is seeking a volunteer who can complete a comprehensive SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis.

This research and analysis will be a core building block for our organization's planning efforts. During this project, our volunteer will:
-Research industry trends
-Study feedback from our nonprofit's stakeholders
-Create a breakdown of our nonprofit’s internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats
-Examine how natural disasters, health crises, political upheaval, etc. could impact our programs, fundraising ability, or reliance on in-person volunteers.

This project, the volunteer will support the development of an international community with a diaspora, but also allowing those who were not within the African Diaspora to understand the nuances talent and the opportunities within the diaspora. Working with some interesting partners such as the World Bank, the state of Maryland, Ashoka, and the African Think Tank, just to name a few. This will be coupled with having the ability to say you took part in the development of future leaders in multiple industries.

My team and I have prepared for this project by developing a website and pitch decks. We have ideas as to what we would like our programming to look like.
