We’re seeking a skilled storytelling strategist or creative director to help Creshendo shape the long-term vision and framework for our Storytelling for Refugees and Migrants project — an initiative using animation, illustration, and lived experience to shift public narratives around migration.

What we need now is someone who can help us step back and ask: Where is this headed, and how do we get there?

The volunteer will collaborate with our team lead to:
-Assess current storytelling formats and processes for collecting real stories.
-Help define creative priorities, ethical guidelines, and storytelling principles.
-Develop a high-level Storytelling Roadmap that includes short- and mid-term goals, content direction, and audience strategies.
-Provide light coaching for our team lead to sustain this work beyond the engagement.

The final deliverable will be a concise, actionable storytelling framework or roadmap document that guides Creshendo’s future narrative and content strategy.

This partnership will last approximately 8–10 weeks, with periodic check-ins.
Creshendo is a global nonprofit co-creating education, economic, and storytelling programs with migrants and displaced people. Our storytelling project was created because the communities we work with told us:
“We want our voices heard.”

This project helps make that happen. But how we tell stories matters just as much as which stories we tell.

By mentoring our team, you’ll help us protect the integrity of that mission. You’ll help shape stories that are human, bold, and rooted in dignity — and ensure that our process remains ethical, strategic, and built to last.

You’ll be matched with our Storytelling Team Lead and supported by Creshendo’s Executive Director. The team already has a structure in place and is actively working on content. We’ll provide you with past materials, upcoming goals, and context on the communities we’re serving.

You can help us refine our vision, align creative decisions with impact goals, and create a foundation that allows the team to grow with clarity.
